April 2, 1010
hi! once again i'm on the emailing rampage lol!! i seem to find lots of tidbits while reading my devotions, i bought another devotional book, one that is equally as helpful (praying through cancer my friend gave me, and now i picked up hope for the journey through cancer, both extremely good esp. for someone going through cancer) one thing i have talked about before was about healing, this had never occured to me as i read you can receive healing from visits, maybe i have and have just forgotten but anyway, i had never thought of it that way, but now as i'm thinking that is so true, on days one's been in need of a pick me upper we receive healing from those around us, not only healing as one gets visitors, but just being able to chat with people wether its in church or via phone, i tend to talk a lot on the phone these days, typically talk to my one my sis once a week and we talk sometimes up to 2 hrs. or so yeppers, we are talkers, lol!! we could talk a lot longer, we never seem to run out of stuff to talk about it seems. she helps me do research on the computer while we're chatting to each other, (wether its looking up the long list of blood work that is needed and what the normals are for each one and what is needed to eat or do in order to bring them back up etc. etc.) and just talk about what's up for the day, the week, what's on the menu etc. i love chatting with her, i also then talk to my mom and my other sis at least once a day, typically an hr. or so too. You may wonder if i ever actually get anything done, yes i actually do, its called a walk about phone, my fav. toy and multi tasking. I can multi task, either getting laundry on the go, dishes, baking, etc. I try and check up on a couple people each week and see how they're doing, and then i get calls from my palative care nurse (i have a new nurse now,as Allyson is having a baby any day now) so i have yet to meet Kim, she seems to be a more i'll get right to the point, she'll be coming over next week for a visit. where as Allyson was in no hurry and just loved to chat everyday things too. I'll miss her, but she wants to come back after 6 months. then i get calls from cancer care, Daisy or Don give me a buzz every once in a while and check up on me. I see my family doc once a month, go for a massage at least once a month, depending on what muscle did a flip, i am so blessed to have my voice, i don't know if i ever mentioned it before but for some people who have radiation on their throat area they can lose their voice or it can change, i can be so thankful everything is normal.
My little motivator has got me walkin', "comon' mom", and if its not "comon' mom its comon' dad" lets go for a walk, it has been so beautiful out weather wise, one just can't resist, and its wonderful to be able to get out and breathe fresh crisp spring air, something that bothered me all winter, as soon as that cold air would meet my lungs i'd be coughing up a storm, so i had to cover up well. We got a shower last night so things i'm sure will be greening up soon, one year i remember mowing the lawn at the end of March, i was tempted yesterday afternoon, but the fuel in the mower needs filling. We left our lawn quite long last fall as no one had energy or time to keep it up, so hopefully i can have enough energy to mow it this year, i love mowing ( good thing its a ride on)
I've started a whole bunch of plants inside, got a bunch of flowers going, tomato plants started, lots and lots of cabbage, a few broccoli, kale, my peppers are lookin' great, so now we just wait for the end of May to get those plants out into the garden. Little girl has put a few sticks into the garden telling me which half i can have and she'll take the other half, she's got a couple tomato plants going and has a list of all sorts of veggies she'll be planting on her half of the garden, so we'll see who wins out on that one, we won't say who's gonna have more energy as i know who's win out on that one lol!!
With all this nice weather, things will be picking up very soon at the farm no doubt, i haven't heard any start date for seeding but i'm sure it'll be just around the corner, so i'll bring out lunches and suppers to hubby and get to go along on the tractor once again, helping him keep straight lines while seeding lol!! na, auto steer is a wonderful thing these days.
In my last email i'd forgotten to mention Janae, after having her surgery she's done incredibly well, we were hoping that her hearing would improve but things seem to be staying the same at least, in her left ear she does not pick up high pitches and in her right ear she does not pick up low pitches, all in all i guess it evens out. So every 6 months we'll continue to go and keep tabs on it, also will check with doc in June when she goes for a check up on how her tonsils and adenoids healed up, to see what he can do for her hearing. her hearing Doc says for some reason her ear drums don't seem to be sending those sounds farther down the ear canal, so some sounds just aren't picked up.Well this email was suposed to be more about updating the prayer and praise list more than chatting, but anyway, i also want to say thanks, for listening to me babble on, being patient with me, being our friends, we appreciate your love and continued prayer support, which we continue to need. Have a Blessed Easter, celebrate the reason we are here, Jesus, dying on the cross for us so we could be saved. diane for Will, Brenten, Jodiene & Janae
